Zayn Malik Talks Why He Decided to Leave One Direction, Says He Was “Tired of Being With the Members Every Day”

Zayn Malik, former member of the British boy group One Direction, appeared on a podcast and gave his first formal interview in about six years.

Zayn candidly reveals why he decided to leave the group and his feelings about his relationship with the members at the time, saying, “Honestly, I was fed up.

The British boy group One Direction (1D) was formed in 2010 by Harry Styles, Nile Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. They quickly rose to stardom, but five years later in 2015, at the height of their popularity, Zayn left the group.

Zayn has since garnered attention for his numerous comments criticizing 1D members and their songs, but his media appearances have been scarce in recent years. Zayn appeared on the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” which was released on July 12 (local time), and talked about his past and recent situation. In the podcast, he talked about his past and recent situation.

I don’t want to go into too many details, but there was a lot of gamesmanship and stuff. I realized right away that something was going on because somebody was doing certain things or somebody didn’t want to agree to a contract. So I got ahead of it. I said, ‘I’m out of here. I’m out of here, it’s goodbye.

To tell you the truth, selfishly, I wanted to get out first and make my own music. That’s why I left the first time.

Zane also spoke about his relationship with the band members at the time: “For five years (before I quit), I was in a relationship with them.

I was with them every day for five years,” he said. To be honest, we were fed up with each other. We were good friends. We did crazy things together that no one else in the world would understand, and we went through a lot of things with everyone. It was a great experience and I had a great time with everyone. It’s just the way it was meant to be now.”

This was Zayn’s first formal interview in about six years, as he had been avoiding interviews and media exposure since his days in the spotlight during his 1D days.

Zayn is currently working on a song about his daughter Khai, who was born to his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid.

I’m writing songs that people don’t imagine,” he said. It’s not my type of music, and the lyrics reflect my real-life experiences. It’s also about my daughter.”
