Live Nation announced on July 26 local time that this weekend’s scheduled Utopia concert at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt will no longer take place.
Live Nation added that “despite our best efforts, due to complex production issues, the show could not be built in the desert.” Live Nation said that ticket holders will be reimbursed and has issued an apology to those who had planned to attend.

Recently, however, the Musicians Syndicate, an Egyptian organization that handles the licensing of musical events, announced that it was not pleased with Travis’ arrival. The Syndicate’s decision to revoke the show’s permit and other “controversies” have led some to question the “complicated production issues” that Live Nation has announced as the reason for their decision.
Speaking of Travis, in 2021, at the Astroworld Festival, a festival he organized, the crowd surged to the front of the stage, causing a panic that resulted in the deaths of 10 audience members. As a result, he was removed from headlining the following year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known as Coachella Fest), a large-scale music and arts festival.
A verdict was later reached that Travis would not be held criminally liable for the fatal accident.
