British musician Ozzy Osbourne, 74, has confided that he recently had a filter removed from his arteries.

Ozzy had also recently undergone another medical procedure that has reduced the risk of blood clots forming in major organs.

Ozzy, vocalist for Black Sabbath, suffers from a rare form of Parkinson’s disease and last year underwent surgery to remove and realign a series of pins in his neck and back to treat a 2003 ATV accident. He also recently underwent another medical procedure that reduced the risk of blood clots in major organs.

On his own radio show, “Ozzie Speaks,” on Sirius XM, Ozzie said, “I’m going to fight through it. I’m a fighter. Like last Monday when I went to have the filter removed,” he said, “when I had a blood clot in my leg, they put a filter in my artery to stop the clot from going to my heart and brain. It sounds worse than it actually is, but I went to have that removed on Monday.””The clot got stuck. It’s disappointment after disappointment. They want me to get better so I can get on with my life.”

Ozzy says he is in “constant pain,” “I feel like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest,” “Writing songs is the only thing that keeps me going, but I can’t do it forever. But I can’t do that forever,” he continued, “I have to get away from this,” “I’m still in constant pain,” and “I’m doing everything I can to stay away from painkillers.

This latest update on Ozzy’s health problems comes after he cancelled his performance at the Power Trip Festival in California this past October, which would have been his first concert in five years.

In early July, Ozzy issued a statement calling the decision “painful. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, but when I was offered this show, I took it as a positive. Unfortunately, my body says it’s not ready. I don’t want to ruin the proudest show I’ve put on in almost five years.”
