Migos couple Offset and Cardi B. have been overcoming rumors of infidelity that have been a mixture of fact and falsehood, but in a recent interview he said he is ready to officially put all those rumors behind him.
He admitted that his wife has not been unfaithful.
Appearing on the U.S. radio show “Way Up With Yee,” Offset admitted that his wife has not cheated on him, contrary to what he claimed in an Instagram Stories that was quickly deleted in June 2023.
Shortly after this post, Cardi dismissed the accusation in the Twitter space, but public concern over the couple’s relationship remained.
Fortunately, the couple is doing well, Offset said in an interview. And as for why he posted the accusation in the first place, he explained that it stemmed from an argument he had already had behind the scenes with his wife, who was born in the Bronx borough of New York, New York, USA. He said, “That post, to be honest with you, me and that guy, …… she’s my wife and I love her to death. We were arguing about this and that. You know, if you’re a New York girl (and you’re involved), you know I’m a glib guy,” he said.
He continued, “He said a little too much, and I was very drunk that night. We were complaining and talking back, and I was like, ‘Watch me,’ [posting the accusation on Instagram]. He’s got a hell of a mouth, but what the hell, I love my wife and she’s crazy, but …… we love each other so much,” he continued.
Asked if he thinks he needs to publicly retract the accusations, Offset said, “Deletion is good enough. After all, the public doesn’t really know what’s going on with us (the couple),” he replied.
Offset’s thoughts coincide with the message of his new song “Jealousy,” featuring Cardi B. In the song, the two take turns accusing people of making evil accusations about the couple’s relationship. Nevertheless, Offset and Cardi, who have a 5-year-old daughter, Kulture, and a soon-to-be 2-year-old son, Wave, have provided plenty of publicity during their marriage. Offset reportedly cheated on her and Cardi filed for divorce in 2020, but they quickly got back together and the filing was dismissed less than two months later.
In an interview with “Way Up With Yee,” Offset seriously discussed why he had cheated on his wife in the past, saying that drug and alcohol abuse was a factor. He said, “When I had (the affair), my (state of mind) was in a different place. I was young. I had just gotten married. I had a lot of money. It was really a communication [issue],” he recalled.
He continued, “We were married and communicating well, but [she] didn’t fully understand my wants and needs, and vice versa. When you don’t communicate, sometimes it feels like you’re arguing. I was making bad decisions, and I was realizing how it was affecting my family,” he continued, “I’ve grown up. Why do you think she loves me? Because I’ve grown up. I’ve shown (by my actions) that I’m not going to do anything stupid anymore. I’m sincere. （I’m not going to continue to play with [my wife]. It hurts and it’s wrong.
