Lizzo is a performer who has influenced many people with her “body positivity.

Body positivity” refers to the idea that people of any shape or size can be proud of their body and feel happy about it.

However, according to the lawsuit, Lizzo called attention to one dancer’s weight gain and later condemned and then fired that dancer.

The dancers further allege that Lizzo once pressured one of the dancers to inappropriately touch a nude performer while she was in Amsterdam in February 2023.

After the concert, the girls stated that Lizzo invited them out for a night on the town and they went to the Red Light District, known for its sex theaters, sex stores, and nude clubs.

However, when they arrived, Lizzo asked the dancers “in turn to touch the naked performers, to grab the dildos on the performers’ lower bodies, and to eat the bananas protruding from the performers’ female genitalia.” In addition, Lizzo allegedly turned his attention to one of the dancers and “began pressuring her to touch the breasts of one of the naked women.”

Lizzo’s production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc, and Charlene Quigley, the captain of the dancer team, are also accused. In addition to the hostile work environment and sexual harassment charges, religious and racial harassment, false imprisonment, interference with prospective economic advantage, and other allegations are made. Not all claims have been filed against each defendant.

Plaintiffs’ attorneys stated in a statement that “the appalling treatment meted out to the performers by Lizzo and his management team seems to contradict everything Lizzo stands for in public, while in private, he humiliates and defames the dancers in ways that are not only illegal, but completely demoralizing. and defaming the dancers in a way that is not only illegal, but completely demoralizing,” she stated.

Additionally, following the lawsuit, former employees of Lizzo, including a former creative director of Lizzo, have spoken out in support of the dancers.

Just hours after three of Lizzo’s former dancers filed their complaint, her former creative director, Quinn Whitney Wilson, and dancer Courtney Hollinquest claimed they were treated similarly. They commented, “Just to be clear, I am not part of this lawsuit, and I applaud the dancers for having the courage to bring this to light.”
