Jason Alexander, who was married for only 55 hours

Britney Spears married her childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander in 2004 at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, but the marriage lasted only 55 hours. The blitz marriage that Britney was in the mood for at the time was not filed for annulment immediately afterwards.

According to TMZ, which first reported the story, Jason was taken into custody by police in Tennessee at around 10:30 a.m. U.S. time on August 2 on stalking charges and detained at a jail in the state. No further details are known, including whether he is out on bond or when he is scheduled to appear in court.

Jason’s Brilliant Wedding Vandalism and Arrests

This is not the first time Jason has gotten into trouble for stalking charges.

In June 2022, on the day of Britney and model/actor Sam Asgari’s wedding, Jason was charged with trespassing, vandalism, and two counts of assault after barging into Britney’s home with the sole intention of talking to her, even though he was not on the wedding guest list. The two charges of stalking and vandalism were dismissed, but he was convicted of trespassing and assault, for which Jason was sentenced to 128 days in jail. He was also handed a three-year restraining order against Britney.

According to police, Jason climbed over the fence of the upscale community where Britney’s home is located and entered a private ceremony to which Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Madonna, Drew Barrymore, and other luxury celebrities were invited. Jason, who was then armed with a knife and dressed in a white prison jumpsuit, ran down the rocky slope toward Britney’s villa, filming with his cell phone camera. He then entered the tent of the wedding hall where the wedding would soon take place and attempted to ruin the wedding by shouting, “She’s my first wife, my only wife,” he said.

The arrest came just over seven months after he was charged by Tennessee authorities with violating a protective order and aggravated stalking. His bail at the time was set at $30,000. Just a few months after the wedding day debacle, Jason was also arrested on a warrant issued in 2016 for jewelry theft.
