She said, ““These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually, I choose not to respond to false allegations, but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”” These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”
Lizzo then continued. As an artist, I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously,” she commented, adding, “With passion comes hard work and high standards. Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made, but it is not my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they are not valued as an important part of the team,” she continued.
Lizzo is speaking out amid the hostile work environment lawsuit filed against her.
The singer took to social media to deny the allegations, saying they were “unbelievable” and “too outrageous to not be addressed.”

I am not here to be seen as a victim. But I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these past few days. I am very open about my sexuality and expressing myself, but I cannot accept people using that openness to paint me as something I am not. And I can’t allow that. There is nothing I take more seriously than being respected as a woman in the world. I know what it feels like to be body-shamed on a daily basis, and I would never criticize or fire an employee because of her weight,” she said, flatly denying the dancers’ accusations.
Lizzo then added, “I am hurt, but I will not let this overshadow the good work I have done in the world. I thank everyone who reached out to encourage me during this time,” she concluded.
