However, one week after Lizzo was sued for sexual harassment, the event was canceled.

The festival’s organizers tweeted, “Due to severe circumstances outside of production control, the 2023 Made in America Festival will no longer be taking place. They continued, “This decision has been difficult and has not been made lightly nor without immense deliberation.”

The festival was scheduled to take place in Philadelphia on September 2 and September 3, organizers said, “Made in America has a legacy of delivering exceptional experience for music fans and concert goers, and it is our commitment to always deliver a top-class festival experience.”

The Made in America Festival has been run by Jay Z’s Roc Nation since 2012. The only time the event was canceled was during the 2020 pandemic of the new coronavirus.

No mention of Lizzo’s legal troubles was made in the statement released by the organizers this time.

Lizzo is currently being sued by three former dancers. The accusers allege body shaming and sexual harassment. The lawsuit also alleged that Lizzo forced one dancer to touch the performer’s breasts during a night out at a nude club in Amsterdam, and that she was warned about the dancer’s weight.

In response, Lizzo outright denied the allegations, saying, “Normally I would not respond to false allegations, but these allegations are unbelievable and so outrageous.
