Sportswear giant Nike is releasing a limited edition model in vibrant colors in honor of Latin American Heritage Month.
Following the release of the “Puerto Rico” in conjunction with the Puerto Rico Day Parade in June, the company recently unveiled the Air Max 1 “Familia”.
GQ magazine describes the sneaker as “a ‘sandlift’ leather base contrasted by bold yellow accents and fiery red piping,” and “the mudguard section is trimmed in green corduroy and pink suede toward the (logo) swoosh and heel. The mudguard area is trimmed in green corduroy and pink suede toward the swoosh and heel (logo).
In addition, the bright “Familia” logo is printed on the shoe’s tongue and insole, and it is housed in a special edition shoebox along with laces and accompanying accessories.
The limited edition sneakers are a tribute to the Day of the Dead, a traditional festival of the Hispanic community that takes place in early November in Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, the Philippines, El Salvador, Brazil, Spain, and other countries.
The product will be available by September 15, when Cultural Heritage Month begins. The price is expected to be around 120 pounds.
