If the name “Hawkins” immediately rings a bell, you are probably a fan of foreign dramas. In fact, this application is a collaboration with the drama “Stranger Things” by Netflix. However, it is really a “superpower training” app.
The “Mind Ordering” app, which is not a traditional Domino’s Pizza app but was developed for this purpose, uses facial recognition and eye tracking technology that reads eye gaze to enable the “subject” to order pizza psychically based on facial expressions and head movements. The app also uses “telekinesis” to order pizzas.
The app also allows users to use their “telekinesis” to explore the lab and search for Easter eggs from past seasons of “Stranger Things” and season 4, and can be enjoyed as a game without ordering. To place an order, the user must set up a Domino’s Pizza Easy Order in advance.
In addition, a special video featuring Dustin and Lucas was released to coincide with the app’s release! First, a young boy is shown being trained in mind ordering at Hawkins National Laboratory in 1986. Then, Dustin and Lucas ride their bicycles to Domino’s Pizza, where the lights go out for a moment, and somehow, during that time, their order arrives… The fact that they are in the film, and the music and atmosphere are just like those in “Stranger Things,” makes it seem as if the film has nothing to do with the main story. It is hard to believe that this is a special video.
