Johnny Depp’s distrust of the media is growing, according to one Instagram influencer.
Jessica Reed Kraus is an Instagram influencer with nearly one million followers. A citizen journalist and blogger, she has spent the past several months disseminating information about the court battle between actor Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard.
One Instagram influencer has been sending out information about Johnny Depp’s distrust of the media.

In a recent post on the content distribution platform Substack, she revealed that she had a 90-minute phone conversation with Johnny himself in mid-May. In the conversation, Johnny referred to “the end of journalistic integrity,” she said.
According to Jessica Reed Kraus, Johnny’s distrust of the media was triggered by an article titled “The Trouble with Johnny Depp” published by Rolling Stone magazine in 2018.
The article stated that Johnny’s drowning in alcohol and drugs had spurred “marital hassles” and a “lifestyle he could not afford”.
In a phone conversation with Jessica, Johnny said that the article “shredded his reputation and ruined his trust in the media. Jessica herself also described the article as “a betrayal that Johnny has yet to recover from.
Jessica continued, “He is a very genuine person,” and “from talking to him on the phone, he didn’t seem to understand how much the public was interested in his trial, probably because he doesn’t use social networking sites much.
