Amazon Prime Video’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power” is the first film adaptation of the legendary Second Age heroes of Middle-earth history, an epic tale set thousands of years far before J. R. R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings.

The creation of great powers, the rise and fall of kingdoms, the trials of heroes, and the most powerful villains created by Tolkien who shroud the entire world in darkness, all invite the viewer into the world of the Second Age. The story begins in a time of peace, as familiar and new characters gradually come together to confront the long-feared return of evil in Middle-earth.

From the darkest recesses of the Misty Mountains, through the majestic forests of the elven capital of Lindon, through the breathtakingly vast island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the earth, the kingdoms and people encountered on this journey will long live on in legend.
