The first artwork by Johnny Depp, 59, sold out just hours after its release. The paintings depict Johnny’s influences, including Elizabeth Taylor and Bob Dylan, and their sales totaled 3 million pounds.

Johnny Depp announced on his Instagram page on the 28th local time that prints of his own artwork will be sold at the Castle Fine Art Gallery in London’s Covent Garden.

According to the gallery’s website, Johnny’s first collection, “Friends & Heroes,” depicts people he knows well and who have inspired him.
His models included actors Al Pacino and Elizabeth Taylor, musicians Bob Dylan and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. Each image depicts a person in Johnny’s eyes, and he described them as they were, exposed to him as they were.
When Johnny tagged the name “Castle Fine Art Gallery” on the post, the gallery’s website crashed due to a flood of traffic. And just hours after the launch, 780 prints were sold out.
Each framed print sold for £3,950, and a group of four prints sold for £14,950. Total sales were estimated at 3 million pounds.
Johnny explained his approach to portraying familiar figures in his paintings, saying, “I’ve always used art to make me feel good about myself.
I have always used art to express my feelings and to think about the people who are most important to me: my family, my friends, and the people I admire.”

In addition to being an actor, Johnny also enjoys art and is active as a musician, having recently joined British guitarist Jeff Beck on his European tour.
