McDonald’s USA announced that it will reopen some of its stores in Ukraine, which had been closed following the invasion by Russia.
McDonald’s plans to reopen operations in the capital city of Kiev.
The company said on August 11 that it will begin working with partners to supply products, prepare stores, and bring back employees within the next few months. The company did not give a specific date for the reopening.
The company said it will reopen in the capital city of Khieu and western Ukraine, where other businesses are operating safely.
McDonald’s withdrew from Russia in May after more than 30 years of operating stores there. The 850 stores in Russia were sold to franchisee Alexandre Gober.
