On November 13, Floyd Mayweather, a former five-weight world boxing champion, will fight Deji Olatunji, a popular British YouTuber, in an exhibition match in Dubai, UAE. How much will the 45-year-old “Money” aka “The Money Man,” who is also a rapper and the brother of the world-famous YouTuber KSI, make? At last, we know how much money he will make.
Mayweather will be paid $30 million (about 4.5 billion yen).
Uday Singh, CEO of Global Titan, the organizer of the event, told the U.S. media outlet “Insider. He said that 40% of the tickets for the match have already been sold, and expressed his confidence that “it will definitely sell out,” and revealed that “$30 million (about 4.5 billion yen) should be paid to Floyd in the end.
On September 25, he will face Mirai Asakura in an exhibition match at “Super RIZIN. Mayweather is said to have received an estimated $13 million in fight money, but it appears that he will get more than double that amount this time.
CEO Singh added, “He is not what people say he is. I have learned a lot from working with him this time. He is a great business partner who listens carefully to the promoter’s opinions. He seems to have fallen in love with the company and is eager to “make a real fight, not an exhibition, happen next year,” he said.
“I’m thinking of Las Vegas for the venue, and I’m planning for next October or later. Of course, my opponent will be 100% someone that everyone knows. We have a few big names like Conor [McGregor] and Manny Pacquiao who are interested. We’ll just have to wait a little bit longer for the names to come out.”
Recently, information that Mayweather and McGregor would fight again in two boxing and MMA (mixed martial arts) bouts for a total payout of $1.5 billion was circulating in the Western media. Mayweather himself has long been said to be open to the idea, but McGregor has been consistently cool about the rematch, and it is unclear whether or not CEO Singh is involved here.
The two fought in November 2017 via boxing rules. Mayweather won by TKO in the 10th round to bring his record to 50 fights, 50 wins and no defeats, and announced his third retirement after the fight. Will Mayweather make a “comeback” next year after a six-year absence? The selection of opponents as well as the selection of the matchups will be closely watched.
