Singer Camila Cabello revealed on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” a talk show hosted by actor Drew Barrymore, that she signed up for a matching app but dropped out after just one day.

After her breakup with Shawn Mendes, a celebrity gossip account, Deux Moines, reported that Camila was at the airport with her smartphone in hand, talking to a friend about matching apps, “swiping and whatnot…” It seems that Camila did indeed use a matching app.

Camila said she signed up for the app to meet people, but for some reason, she left just 24 hours after she started using it.

While this does not necessarily mean that the man who messaged Camila was the same, it is probably true that some men approach her for publicity purposes because of her position as a popular singer. Some matching apps, such as Raya, which has a high percentage of celebrity users, are introduction-only and target so-called VIPs, but Camilla’s concern about “not knowing the intentions of the other party” is no different from other apps. Camila, who says that privacy, boundaries, and screening by a trusted third party are important in public relationships, is more of a “friend-to-lover” type of person, saying that she prefers to meet people through introductions from friends and acquaintances.

Even when I just want a friend (not just a lover), it would be great if I could meet someone who has gone through the screening process of my friends.

Incidentally, Drew, who joined Camilla for a chat about relationships on the day, also has experience with matching apps. Unlike Camilla, Drew is a serious private user of matching apps, and in the past she has shared some “a-ha” episodes of disappointment that have garnered a lot of sympathy.
