Anja Taylor-Joy, who plays Princess Peach in “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” chose Princess Peach as her costume for Halloween 2022! Brie Larson is Yoshi and Paris Hilton is Sailor Moon.
Anja Taylor-Joy is the real Princess Peach!
The trailer for “The Super Mario Brothers Movie” was released earlier this month, unveiling Mario, voiced by Chris Pratt, and Bowser, played by Jack Black. On the other hand, the highly anticipated Princess Peach, voiced by Anja Taylor-Joy of “The Queen’s Gambit” and “Last Night in Soho” fame, was not shown.
Many were disappointed, but whether she knew it or not, Anja has chosen Princess Peach as the theme for her Halloween costume this year!
Anja enjoyed an early Halloween in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 29, with her rumored married partner, musician Malcolm McRae, and his partner in the music duo more*, Kane Richott.
She had just completed filming a few days earlier for “Furiosa,” about the young Captain Furiosa in “Mad Max: Death Road to Fury,” and was dressed in a pink, lace, and frilly one-piece, a far cry from her image in the movie. Instead of a classic long dress like Princess Peach, she wore a pink mini dress with a pair of black boots in a style typical of Anja. The necklace and crown, with its shiny blue pendant top, were designed by Princess Peach.

Malcolm and Kane supported the princess dressed as Mario and Luigi, respectively.

The Super Mario Brothers Movie is scheduled to be released nationwide on April 28, 2023, and by then we can expect to see footage of Princess Peach, voiced by Anja. It will be even more exciting to see her as an actual princess!
Incidentally, not a few celebrities dressed up as Japanese characters for Halloween this year: MCU actor Brie Larson, known for her grueling love of games and anime from Japan, posted on social media a few days before Halloween that she was wondering if she should dress up as Yoshi.

Paris Hilton also enjoyed a Sailor Moon costume. Paris is known to be a fan of Sailor Moon, and she also enjoyed being Sailor Moon on her 39th birthday.
