Film producer Jeffrey Phillips is in wrongful possession of $1 million worth of Michael’s estate.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the Michael Jackson Estate believes that film producer Jeffrey Phillips is in wrongful possession of $1 million worth of Michael Jackson’s property and is seeking to recover all of it.

In the document, the Michael Jackson Estate alleges that Jeffrey Phillips, who was engaged to Michael’s sister LaToya Jackson at the time of Michael’s death in 2009, took advantage of the chaos to remove personal items and personal property from Michael’s mansion in Carrollwood, California. The claim is made that those estates have recently been sold. It is further claimed that the Michael Jackson Estate prevented those estates from being sold recently.

According to the Michael Jackson Estate, the items claimed to have been stolen include hard drives, laptops, iPods, and CDs and DVDs believed to contain undisclosed performances and unreleased concert footage, which alone are worth $500,000 (about ¥52.3 million). The value of these items alone is worth $500,000 (about $52.3 million).

Phillips also claims that Michael’s notes and cassette tapes with some of his lyrics, a photo album with Michael on the cover, a bag with a skull mark, a framed record award, and Michael’s doll were also taken.

The Michael Jackson Estate states that it knows where all of these items are being kept and is looking for a judge to make a determination that they should all be returned.

In response, Phillips claims that he was asked to take personal items from Michael’s home after Michael’s death. He said, “They asked me to take them with me, so I’m just putting them in my house. They are mine now. I didn’t steal it, and I have no intention of selling it at auction,” he countered.
