Citing testimony from an unnamed source, Korea News Agency reported that O Yeong-su was indicted by the Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Public Prosecutors Office without being detained.
According to the report, the matter dates back to O Yeong-su ‘s inappropriate contact with a woman in 2017. O Yeong-su has also denied the charges during the investigation.
O Yeong-su is best known for his role as elderly competitor Oh Il-nam in the hit Netflix series “Squid Game.”
The role earned him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series earlier this year. He was also nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in September.
Last year, O Yeong-su said on the Korean TV show “How Do I Play” that after appearing on the hit show, he was inundated with calls for offers and had to turn down some jobs.
