Prince Harry revealed a promise he made to his brother, Prince William, in the past in the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” and accused the Prince of not keeping it.

Prince Harry said, “I’ve been behind the scenes of the royal family for 30 years, so I know how they function and operate. Behind the scenes, there are always briefings on what’s going on with members of the royal family and priority reporting to the press. It’s a dirty game,” he said. “They leak information and make things up. If a spokesperson wants to erase a negative story about a member of the royal family he serves, he will exchange it for information about another member of the royal family. Conflicts then arise between the spokespersons. A kind of strange understanding or acceptance occurs. And no matter what we ask, they say, ‘I don’t know,’ or ‘Don’t be silly. That’s not possible. Do you think I approve of that? And I say, ‘I don’t know. But what I want to know is, what did you do to stop it? By the way, the answer is ‘no (I did nothing),'” he said, claiming that sometimes insiders intentionally leak or fabricate information for the benefit of other members of the royal family.
Prince Harry and Prince William, who learned about this firsthand from watching their father, King Charles, in his office as a child, said they had promised themselves that they would try not to do so.
‘William and I both saw what happened in my father’s office and made a promise that we would never let that happen in our own office.
