After disappearing from the public eye due to allegations of misconduct, he gave his first interview since the scandal.

In the interview, he revealed that he had contemplated suicide.

Armie’s private DMs were leaked in early 2021. From there, he was controversially accused of multiple accusations of sexual abuse and cannibalism. He was subsequently dropped by his agency WME and lost roles he was set to appear in, including the Jennifer Lopez film “Shotgun Wedding” and the Paramount Plus series “The Offer / The Man Who Bet on the Godfather.”

This time, in a new interview with Air Mail, Armie commented, “I just went out to sea and swam as far as I could, hoping to drown, get run over by a boat, or be eaten by a shark. He continued, “Then I realized my children were still on shore, and I knew I couldn’t do that to them.” Army was living in the Cayman Islands in February 2021 to escape media scrutiny.

Army, who has two children with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, 8-year-old Harper and 6-year-old Ford, is still under investigation by the LAPD after a woman named Effie accused him of rape.

Referring to the age difference between the alleged victims, Army said, “They were young women in their mid-twenties and I was in my thirties. They may have been happy just to be with me, and they may have said yes to things they wouldn’t have said yes to themselves. That’s a disproportionate amount of power in the situation,” he commented. While he vehemently denied any criminal wrongdoing, he admitted to the magazine that he had been emotionally abusive toward his former partner.

I admit that I was an asshole, that I was selfish, that I took advantage of people to make myself look good…I admit my mistakes. I admit my mistakes, and when I’m done, I’m here to move on,” Army said. I’m a healthier, happier, more balanced person now,” he continued.
