Harvey Weinstein, a major movie producer, has reportedly been sentenced to another 16 years in prison for sex crimes.
Harvey was one of the biggest producers in Hollywood.
He is a major figure in the industry, having produced numerous hit movies such as “The King’s Speech” and “Shakespeare in Love,” and has won numerous awards at various awards shows, including the Academy Awards. However, on October 5, 2017, a New York Times report revealed that he has been repeatedly sexually harassing multiple actresses and female employees for almost 30 years. He has already been sentenced to 23 years in prison and is currently serving a sentence for raping an aspiring actress and sexually abusing a television and film production assistant.
According to a new report by Page Six, the latest sentence concerns Harvey’s Los Angeles trial, in which he was sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison. With this sentence, he was effectively sentenced to life in prison, according to various media reports.
Harvey’s representative commented to Page Six that the new sentence is “cruel” considering Harvey’s age and health. ‘This is not justice, this is a pile-on for a man that many have decided should be abandoned and discarded regardless of the facts. It will be appealed.”
And Harvey himself told Page Six, “It’s unbelievable that I would be convicted of a crime I wasn’t there for. I am innocent.” “I was never with her. I was never with her. All of her allegations are a setup for money,” he said.
