Just the other day, a video surfaced on TikTok of Hailey’s co-MC making a comment about Taylor Swift on a rap battle show that Hailey had been the MC of in the past. In response, Selena said, “I’m so sorry. My best friend (Taylor) is one of the best in the business and will continue to be so,” a comment that implicitly criticized Hailey and left fans baffled.

Perhaps because of these events, Selena announced to her fans that she would be leaving social networking sites for a while on the day she posted the comment about Taylor. Hailey also set restrictions on her Instagram comment section, perhaps as an anti-countermeasure.

The post was thought to be a PR for her own brand, but fans took notice of the music used in the post.
The song used in the post was “Calm Down” by popular rapper Rema, who later released a version with Selena’s participation. In addition, the version used in this post is not the one in which Selena participated, but the one in which only Rema was used.

As this spread around the Internet, some people began to rumor that Hailey was also sending a distant message to Selena.
