Ex-lovers Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgens were spotted crossing paths at an after-party after the Oscars.

The pair encountered each other after the Oscars after-party.

Austin Butler starred in the biopic Elvis, which chronicles the rise of legendary singer Elvis Presley, known as the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, from an unknown singer to a star.

He had won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) for Best Actor, and it was thought that he would win an Oscar as well, but unfortunately, Team Elvis ended without an award.

Austin is currently dating model Kaia Gerber, but before his breakthrough, people know that he was dating actor Vanessa Hudgens, who had her big break in the Disney Channel TV movie High School Musical, for about nine years.

At this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, Austin was a nominee and Vanessa was a red carpet reporter, so many wondered if the two would reunite. However, they were not seen together in public.

However, there was a brief encounter after the after-party hosted by Vanity Fair after the Oscars ceremony. Austin came out of the venue with Sharone Stone and then stopped to do fan service, but Vanessa was coming from behind them. Vanessa glanced at Austin as he suddenly stopped, but went straight through.

This was the only time the two encountered each other. Some people said that Vanessa was glaring at Austin when she glanced at him at this time, but in reality Vanessa’s eyes were on her phone screen and she only glanced at him because the person in front of her suddenly stopped. But on the other hand, many people have been in the act of pretending to look at their phone in awkward situations. Therefore, some believe that Vanessa was pretending to be engrossed in her phone because she felt awkward about meeting up with Austin outside the venue.

Vanessa foresaw Austin as Elvis.

Although Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgens broke up after nine years of dating as a result, Austin has something to thank Vanessa for.

That is that Vanessa has always been supportive of Austin playing Elvis.

Austin says: “There was an Elvis Christmas song on the radio and we were singing along, and my ‘friend’ looked at me and said, ‘You should play Elvis’. I said, ‘No, I can’t do that’. Two weeks later, I was playing the piano. I had never sung for anyone before, but there was this same friend, and I played the piano [for her]. She said again, ‘I’m serious. She told me in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that this “friend” was later revealed to be Vanessa.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, she added: “We spent a lot of time together. And she was sort of prescient. So I’m really grateful to her for believing in me”, and thanked Vanessa for her support.
