Star Wars is an unprecedented form of entertainment that has filled the entire world with excitement and joy and continues to be a social phenomenon. The galaxy created by George Lucas continues to expand, and fans continue to be enthralled by new stories connected to the canonical history, such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor and The Mandalorian.
The latest of these original drama series, Ahsoka, will be available exclusively on Disney Plus in August 2023!
In addition, the legendary Ahsoka Tano, once Anakin Skywalker’s padawan and a hugely popular character among Star Wars fans, will make new Star Wars history as she battles with a dual-wielded “white” lightsabre in her hands. The trailer and teaser visuals were unveiled worldwide at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023, the biggest Star Wars celebration currently taking place in London, in front of an enthusiastic crowd of fans.
Director Dave Filoni has publicly stated that Ahsoka Tano is a character with deep ties to Japan, modelled on Sun, the heroine of Studio Ghibli’s animated feature Princess Mononoke, and has made her first appearance in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and has been immensely popular since his first appearance in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Ahsoka was once Anakin Skywalker’s only Padawan and Jedi. However, she lost faith in the Jedi Order, the organisation that was supposed to be the guardians of justice, and abandoned her Jedi ways, breaking with Anakin. She has a spectacular past, and is reunited with Anakin, who has fallen to the dark side and become Darth Vader, and fights to the death with her former mentor in his changed form.
Although Ahsoka has had such a harsh life, she first appeared in the live-action version of The Mandalorian season 2. She gradually became one of the Mandalorians while fighting the lone bounty hunter Mandalorian, and in The Book of Boba Fett, she met the legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker. The film depicted Ahsoka gently watching over Luke as he trained as a Jedi on Glogoo, to the delight of fans around the world.
The story of Ahsoka, who has deep connections with many other characters from canonical history, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Leia and Luke’s mother Padmé Amidala, Yoda and Darth Maul, and is the other main character in Star Wars after Anakin and Luke, now begins.
The trailer is full of action scenes of Ahsoka fighting with a two-bladed lightsaber, which is synonymous with Ahsoka, and is full of ‘Star Wars’ atmosphere.
The battle scenes of the spaceships in the galaxy as well as the spectacular action scenes of Ahsoka running around the galaxy are also spectacular. And “The Jedi have been defeated. There are almost none left. The time has come at last” – a meaningful line of dialogue.
The talented pilot Hera Syndulla, the Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren and the droid Chopper, all familiar from the animated film Star Wars Rebels, also make their first live-action appearances.
In a dark age where there are almost no Jedi left, what is the dark darkness that is slowly closing in? This is sure to be a pivotal film that will mark a new chapter in the history of Star Wars.
The film’s executive producer is Dave Filoni, who was appointed by George Lucas to produce the ‘Star Wars’ animated series film.
He is also responsible for the Mandalorian series, which has been described as “the perfect Star Wars”, and is trusted by Lucas and SW fans alike. The role of Ahsoka will be played by Rosario Dawson, who also voiced the character in the animated film and will continue to do so in the live-action version.
