At a concert held by popular K-pop group Stray Kids in the US, another audience member was furious at a fan’s “behaviour”. The video is currently the talk of the town on TikTok.

Stray Kids is an eight-member boy group from JYP Entertainment, a major South Korean entertainment company known for its members such as TWICE and NiziU, etc. Since their debut in 2018, they have gained immense popularity in their home country, Japan and overseas.

Stray Kids held concerts at Dickey’s Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, on 26 March and the following 27 March. The concert was a lot of fun, but there was a bit of trouble in the audience.

A TikToker (@glitterkitty9000) took to TikTok to show footage from the Fort Worth concert in the US. In it, a fan holds a slogan* above his head and shouts at him: ‘Girl, if you don’t take that banner down, you’re an asshole! The video shows a woman shouting “Girl, if you don’t take that banner down, you’re an asshole!” at a fan holding a slogan above her head. Apparently, the fans in the front row had raised the slogan so high that the audience behind them could not see their favourite Stray Kids.

*Slogan…A towel or piece of paper with an idol’s name or message of support on it. Mainly horizontal in shape and used during concerts and events; a culture unique to K-pop.

@glitterkitty9000 I hate sitting in the middle, yall front ppl lucky i need tips cuz im never lucky😭 #fortworth #maniac #straykids #kpop #skz #stays #stay #middlesection #sadface #lol #maniacskz #maniacstraykids ♬ original sound – Beyoncé (FP)

At the moment, the video has been viewed more than 4.8 million times, and TikTok users who saw the video blamed the fans for holding the slogan high. In the comments section, one commenter wrote: “The same thing happened to me. I’m 5’5″, so I yelled at them to ‘lower the banner'”, “This happened to me too. It was very irritating”, “I had to tell the girl in front of me to keep her penlight at shoulder height…”, “I would have taken that (slogan) away”, and many others were sympathetic to the video poster.

Speaking of concert etiquette, at a recent Taylor Swift concert, a video of a man and woman seated in front of and behind each other doing the ‘twerk/twerk’ (a hip hop dance where the hips shake violently) was spread and criticised as ‘inappropriate behaviour’. Also, at a Billie Eilish concert, female fans sang so loudly and enthusiastically that they could not hear Billie’s voice, which was considered “an attempt by her to get a record deal”. There were negative comments such as, “I know it’s a concert, but she sings too much.”
