Dwayne Johnson is returning to the Wild Speed film series, The Wrap has learned.

Dwayne Johnson is known for his work in the popular car action film series Wild Speed, including Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Fast & Furious 7 (2015), The Fate of the Furious  (2017), and the spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), in which he played one of the main characters, Luke Hobbs.

Dwayne, however, has reportedly been feuding with actor Vin Diesel, who plays the main character Dominic, since the fifth film was released in 2016. In the eighth film, The Fate of the Furious (2017), Dwayne and Vin filmed separately and have reportedly not worked together since then.

In July 2021, in an interview, Dwayne said, “I hope [the then latest film in the series], F9: The Fast Saga, does well. And the tenth and eleventh films, and beyond. I’m not in it, though”, he stated that he was retiring from the series.

Dwayne has now officially returned to the Wild Speed series after a long-running feud with Vin Diesel.

The world premiere of Fast X, the latest and tenth film in the Wild Speed series, was held in Rome, Italy, on 12 May local time.

Dwayne Johnson appeared as Luke Hobbs in the film’s post-credit scene. It was revealed that he had returned to the series.

It was also said that the series would conclude with the next eleventh film, but star and producer Vin Diesel has revealed that the final chapter of the series will be in three parts, including Fast X.

It is unclear whether the decision to bring Dwayne back has resolved the disagreement between Vin and Dwayne, but fans will no doubt be very pleased to see Dwayne in the final chapter of the series.
