Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed his determination to bring back the former ace, who left the club two years ago.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta intends to do all he can to bring Paris Saint-Germain FW Lionel Messi back to the club.
Barcelona won La Liga for the 27th time in four seasons with a 4-2 victory over Espanyol at the hostile RCDE Stadium on 14 May in the 34th round of La Liga. In an interview with Spain’s Movistar Pulse immediately after the game, president Laporta reiterated his intention to return Messi, who left the club two years ago, in this summer’s transfer window.
‘Yes, we will do it. We will do everything we can to bring Messi back.’
Laporta also paid tribute to La Liga-winning coach Xavi Hernández and expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season.
‘Xavi worked hard to deliver quality football. He is a manager who deserves to be congratulated. We have a great manager at this club.”
