Popular actor Johnny Depp attended the Cannes Film Festival. He received a seven-minute standing ovation for his latest film, Jeanne du Barry, which brought tears to his eyes.

The 76th Cannes International Film Festival opened on Tuesday 16 May (local time) in the southern French city of Cannes.

 

On the opening day, the French film Jeanne du Barry, in which Johnny Depp plays Louis XV, premiered.

The film has attracted a lot of attention as it is Johnny’s latest film and his first film since winning a libel case against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard.

 

After the premiere of the film, the crowd gave Johnny a seven-minute standing ovation, which moved him to tears in his eyes.
