The Hollywood Vampires, consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen, announced the decision via social media on Sunday 28 May local time.

‘It is with sadness that the Hollywood Vampires share that they are rescheduling three US tour dates scheduled for this week,’ they said in a statement. It added: ‘Johnny suffered a painful ankle injury following a recent appearance and has been advised by his doctors to refrain from travelling.’

The statement continued: ‘He is devastated by this incident and looks forward to resting so that all four Vampires can give their full best on tour in Europe’.

The shows were originally scheduled for 30 May, 31 May and 1 June in Manchester, Boston and Bethel, NY respectively, but were rescheduled for late July.

Johnny, star of Pirates of the Caribbean, recently made headlines when he attended the Cannes Film Festival. His film Jeanne du Barry, which opened the festival, received a standing ovation, which even brought Johnny to tears.

Later, on Monday 22 May local time, Johnny was on stage at the Royal Albert Hall for a Jeff Beck tribute concert in London.
