Noel Gallagher has scathingly criticised Matthew Healy’s comments.

In a recent interview with Spin, Noel Gallagher spoke about the reunion of his former rock band Oasis, which broke up in 2009.

Oasis was led by Noel and his brother Liam, and the break-up was reportedly due to a sibling rivalry.

Regarding the Oasis reunion, Matthew Healy, frontman of rock band The 1975, recently said that Noel and Liam should “grow up with each other”. He argued that the group should be reunited because “not one person would say, ‘I’ll go to a High Flying Birds show (Noel’s band) or a Liam Gallagher show, but I’m not going to an Oasis show'”.

Noel was asked about this statement by Matthew in an interview.

Matthew’s comments were a big topic of conversation on the internet, but Noel did not seem to know about them until they were mentioned in the interview.

‘Oh, that dumb-faced fucker. What did he say?” He added wryly: “He can’t even imagine, can he? He should think about how shit his band is and break up”.

Noel added that he was ‘not interested’ in an Oasis reunion ‘in the first place’ and explained why: ‘If Oasis hadn’t reached its full potential, it might not have the attitude it has now. But Oasis have done everything they set out to do. And more, too,” he revealed, because he is satisfied with his work as Oasis.

Noel added: “I don’t understand why there are calls for a reunion. That was just a thing that happened then. It’s a shame if we missed it. I missed the Sex Pistols era, but I managed to get over it. So we should all get over it too”.
