There are limits to what we can bear.
Prince Harry claims that he and Chelsy Davy broke up because of “the press.
Prince Harry is currently in court against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), which publishes the Mirror and other newspapers, alleging that they used illegal means such as wiretapping to gather information.
According to court documents obtained by The New York Times on Tuesday, June 6, Prince Harry, who appeared in London’s High Court of Justice, claimed that “their relationship was set up to constantly break down due to excessive snooping by the tabloids.
In his admission statement filed that day, Prince Harry wrote, “I felt as if I was being watched all the time,” and added, “I am sure that Chelsy found it very difficult to cope with these things when she lived in England. Everyone has a limit to what they can endure,” and complained that the excessive pursuit by the media was a great stress.
Chelsy Davy, a businesswoman who now runs jewelry brand Aya, met Prince Harry in 2004, and they were together until mid-2010, despite repeated breakups and reconciliation. However, it is believed that Chelsy, who wanted to keep her private life private, decided that she could no longer stand the scrutiny of the media and chose to break up with him.
In 2005, Prince Harry was scooped for spending time with another woman while she was away, despite being in a relationship. The article also reported that the prince had been harshly pursued by Chelsy over the phone.
During the trial, Prince Harry complained about what the article said, “How could they have known that Chelsy was furious with the prince and tongue-tied him over the phone?
How could they have known that,” Prince Harry complained, stating, “The article contains several statements purportedly from ‘friends’ and ‘other partygoers,’ but no one could have known the details concerning this part of the story.”
