Young actor who joined the “Mission: Impossible” series for the first time was shocked on the set of the film.

Greg Tarzan Davis, who made his first appearance in the series with “Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One,” spoke to ET about what he learned from lead actor Tom Cruise and what surprised him on set. Note that this is Greg’s second time working with Tom, having previously appeared as Coyote in the film “Top Gun Maverick.

Tom is known for performing even the most dangerous stunts on his own, but Gregg, who plays Jasper’s partner Digas in the film, said he did not think the other actors were filming without a stuntman, “There was a car ride scene with Shae Whigham (who plays Jasper). There was a car ride scene that was filmed and I was in the passenger seat. I thought there would be a stunt driver, but for some reason Tom doesn’t hire stuntmen. So we do everything ourselves,” he continued.

There were two cameras mounted on the hood, one next to the window, and I was in the passenger seat. I was sitting in the passenger seat, waiting for the stuntman to arrive, thinking, ‘It’s about to start. Then Shaye (who was sitting next to me) said, ‘Okay, let’s start driving. When I heard that, I thought, ‘Why you? Why you? You’re going to drive? No, no, no, no, no, you’re Shay (not the stuntman). I didn’t know you were good at car stunts…. On a normal day, I would never drive with you, but here we are on a Roman road with so many people and cars…” I panicked.

Ready for death, Greg texted his mother just before filming started, saying, “I love you. I just want you to know that. I’m sorry for all the bad things. Please forgive me.” But his mother didn’t reply because she thought Greg was joking.

Incidentally, Greg said that the most meaningful lesson he learned from Tom through the filming of “Top Gun Maverick” and “Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One” was “to accept that everything that happens to you is a result of what you do. Whether it is good or bad, I need to accept responsibility for it. If it is good, I learn how to continue. If it is bad, I learn from it and make it better.
