On June 24, singer Madonna contracted a bacterial infection and was in such a serious condition that she was even in the ICU at one point. She had been suffering from a low-grade fever for about a month prior to her emergency hospitalization, but TMZ reported that she had been rehearsing for her 40th anniversary tour, which was scheduled to begin on July 15.

When news of Madonna’s subsequent emergency transport while unconscious broke around the world, Guy Oseary, Madonna’s longtime manager, wrote on his Instagram page, “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection and will be in the ICU for several days. Her health is improving, but she is still undergoing treatment,” he said in a statement.

And although she was discharged from the hospital a few days after being admitted, she was reportedly vomiting repeatedly at home and in no condition to get up from her bed, so there were concerns about Madonna’s condition, but on July 9, she was spotted walking the streets of New York.

Wearing a Gucci hat, Madonna was walking around New York with a friend, looking completely healthy. However, according to Page Six, she had no trouble walking, but she was walking slowly.

Her debut 40th anniversary tour “The Celebration Tour,” which was scheduled to begin on July 15, has been postponed indefinitely, but fans were relieved to see Madonna walking.
