They wed on Thursday, July 27, in Geneva, Switzerland, watched by friends and loved ones.

The couple met in Shanghai on June 4, 2004, and proposed just over a month later on July 24, 2004, but it took 6992 days before they were married.

A gold-framed letter with a picture of the two of them and the words “We are so happy to celebrate this special moment together! Brazilian Formula 1 racer Felipe Massa (42) shared a letter on Instagram with a gold frame that read, “Congratulations on your marriage. Jean Todt, Michel Yeo, I love you!” and congratulated him.

Michel, a Buddhist, had previously cited his inability to have children as the reason for ending his first marriage to Dixon Poon, owner of Harvey Nichols and other companies from 1988 to 1992. Michelle wanted to start a family and even took a break from acting to try, but after several failed attempts, she returned to her film career.

Michelle once told Bustle. ‘As a result, I was never able to have [children]. To be honest, I didn’t want to be bitter ten years later. In Asian families, sons and daughters are an extension, a legacy. And when you see the reality (of not being able to have children), you have to deal with it. It’s about dealing with the curve balls that are thrown at you.”

Incidentally, Michelle was engaged to American cardiologist Alan Herdman in 1998, before she met Jean.

Michelle, who got married a few months after becoming the first Asian to win an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Evelyn Wang in “Everything Everywhere at Once,” revealed at the Cannes Film Festival that the best thing about the award was that she was now getting scripts for non-Asian characters. She said at the Cannes Film Festival.
