While “Barbie,” a live-action movie starring actress Margot Robbie and actor Ryan Gosling as Mattel’s Barbie dolls, is currently a huge hit, promotion for the new movie “Oppenheimer,” in which Cillian Murphy plays the lead role, is also underway.
Actor Cillian Murphy, 47, is open to playing Ken in the “Barbie” sequel. He said he would be happy to “have a conversation” about participating in the sequel to his rival’s blockbuster.
Speaking to Omelete, Cillian said. ‘Do I want to play Ken in “Barbie 2″? Of course I do. Read the script and let’s talk.”
It’s “great” that two huge box office hits are coming out at the same time and going head-to-head, Kilian insisted, “I can’t wait to see ‘Barbie. I think it’s great for the film industry to have all these great movies coming out this summer,” he continued.
Meanwhile, “Barbie” casting directors Allison Jones and Lucy Beavan recently opened up about how they assembled the perfect ensemble for the role of Ken, played by Ryan as well as Sim Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, and John Cena.
In Vanity Fair magazine, Allison said, “We needed actors who could understand the fact that our Barbie only knows how to have fun,” and Lucy added, “They certainly had their differences, but they had to feel like a cohesive group. We wanted to cast people who were really easy to get along with, fun, and great people,” she continued.
