Former Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta (39), who left Japanese J-League club Vissel Kobe this summer, has decided to make a change and join Emirates Club, a first division club in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to UAE media outlet Sharjah Sports, Iniesta arrived at Dubai International Airport on August 7.

The media posted a video on “X” (formerly Twitter) of Iniesta appearing at the airport with his family and being welcomed by officials with a club towel around his neck and a bouquet of flowers.
Also, Fabrizio Romano, a talented Italian reporter, reported on his “X” that “Iniesta signed a contract on Tuesday (August 8) morning, valid until June 2024, with an option until 2025.
Previously, Iniesta had reportedly agreed to join Inter Miami of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States, where Lionel Messi, 36, an Argentine international and colleague from his days at Barcelona in Spain’s first division, has joined the club. On the other hand, since the MLS has a salary cap system and the three slots for players without salary limits are already filled by Messi and others, Miami has needed to come up with another plan to acquire Iniesta.
Iniesta chose the UAE over offers from Saudi Arabia, where a number of big names, including Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nasar), have joined the club. Following Vissel Kobe of the Japanese J-League, his performance at his new club is likely to attract a lot of attention.
