The cause of death of Austin Majors, a former child actor on the popular American drama series “NYPD Blue,” has been determined.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and Coroner announced on August 8 (local time) that Austin Majors died of a fentanyl overdose.

His death was determined to be accidental. The department confirmed Austin’s death in February of this year. They revealed that he died on the 11th of the same month.

 

According to TMZ, which first reported Austin’s obituary, Austin died while staying at a homeless shelter in Los Angeles, California. At the time, the site also reported that he may have ingested a lethal dose of fentanyl, although it said there was no incident.

 

Austin’s family told People magazine that he was a “loving, artistic, intelligent, and kind person.

 

Austin played Theo Sipowicz on the popular drama series “NYPD Blue,” which ran for 12 seasons (1993-2005). 48 episodes were broadcast, and he won a Young Artist Award for best performance in a television series in 2002.

 

He has also appeared in numerous other television dramas and films, including “How I Met Your Mother,” “ER,” “According to Jim,” and “Desperate Housewives.

 

Austin also went by the name “Pope” and supported numerous charitable organizations, according to his official website.
