Did Lizzo coerce dancers in a strip club?

On August 1, three former backup dancers (Ariana Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noel Rodriguez) filed a lawsuit against Lizzo and others, alleging body shaming and sexual harassment.

In the lawsuit, the dancers allege that Lizzo took them to a strip club and pressured them to mingle with naked performers when he visited Amsterdam on tour in February 2023. They also stated that they were forced to eat bananas from performers’ vaginas.

Lizzo is fighting back…new photos have been released denying the dancers’ claims.

And this time, about a month after the “banana incident”, a photo was released on TMZ in the United States that was taken backstage when visiting a topless show in Paris, France.

Marty Singer, Lizzo’s lawyer, told TMZ that the three former backup dancers suing Lizzo were “happily drinking and flirting” backstage with performers at a topless cabaret show there when they visited Paris on tour on March 5, 2023. The three former back-up dancers were seen “drinking happily” and “having a blast” backstage with the performers of a topless cabaret show there when they visited Paris on a tour on March 5, 2023.

Ariana, Crystal, and Noelle claim that they were coerced into going to the topless show, but Singer’s lawyer points out that the photos taken at the time contradict this claim. He said that the girls appear to be “frolicking happily backstage” with the performers.

Lizzo vs. former backup dancers, what do both attorneys argue?

According to Singer, the plaintiffs renewed their contracts with Lizzo a few weeks after the Paris show and returned for a third tour. Singer also said there is “substantial evidence” in addition to photos and videos, and called their claims “bogus.

On the other hand, their lawyer, Nima Rahmani, said, “Of course, they wanted to keep their jobs. Like everyone else, they had bills to pay, but they finally couldn’t take the abuse anymore. We support all the claims in the lawsuit and look forward to the trial,” he said in direct opposition to Lizzo’s claims.

In addition, Rahmani said he has heard similar stories from others who worked for Lizzo, and he also accused Lizzo of using intimate footage of the dancers without their permission in the 2022 HBO Max documentary “Love, Lizzo.
