In an interview with TV anchor Savannah Guthrie, Amber Heard declared her abiding love for ex-husband Johnny Depp.
‘I love him. I loved him with all my heart.”
The exchange was part of a short clip released on the “Today” morning show Wednesday local time, a preview, so to speak, of the exclusive interview conducted by NBC, which will air in its entirety on Friday night. In the trailer released the day before, Heard accused Depp of being a liar and repeated his claim that he had been violated badly by him all along. By all accounts, Heard is saying contradictory things in the same interview.
Since Heard is full of lies, these inconsistencies happen all over the place. In closing arguments, Depp’s lawyer told the jury that they should not choose which of Heard’s statements to believe, but rather believe them all or disbelieve them all. I think that is exactly right, so the author will not believe anything she says in this interview with Guthrie. The fact that she is still doing these bad things, combined with Depp’s testimony at the trial, makes me think that her saying that she “loved” Depp is also a lie. What she loved, as I am sure Depp did not want to admit at the time, was the life and status that he gave her. What she still has for Depp himself is not love but obsession.
Depp gave her the life of her dreams.
Eleven years ago, Heard suddenly became Cinderella. Depp, who had chosen her to be the heroine of “The Rum Diary” despite her acting ability (though of course Heard was not aware of such a thing), had shown signs of interest in her during the filming, and when they met again for a promotional campaign, he had fallen completely in love with her. As one of the world’s top stars, he took Heard, who was 23 years younger than him, into his dream world. There, he saw many things he had never known before, such as private jets and fine red wine. Gentle Depp even bought him a horse and gave him the best hospitality for his parents in Texas.
When I was sad to be so far away from my best friend when Depp decided to move in with me in an art deco penthouse he owned in downtown Los Angeles, he told me that my best friend and his girlfriend could also live in one of the five adjoining penthouses. Another penthouse would be occupied by his sister, and he said that the other penthouse could be used as a hardware closet and a studio for painting. For his birthday party, he ordered several bottles of his favorite wine that cost $500 a bottle with Depp’s money. The wedding was on a Bahamian island owned by Depp, and the honeymoon was a trip on the Orient Express.
Although she became Depp’s lover and later his wife, and thus became well known, her career as an actress was not as successful as it had been. However, Depp called three top studio executives, who helped her land the role of heroine in the blockbuster “Aquaman. The fee for the role was $1 million. For the sequel, I get double that, $2 million.
To be loved by Depp, who would give her such a wonderful life, Heard did her best to play a pretty woman. When Depp came home, she made him take off his boots with her own hands and brought him a glass of wine. But there is a limit to how long you can keep pretending to be someone you are not, and after a year and a half, the rags begin to fall apart. Having been violated by his father as a child and growing up with a sister who was also violent to him, Heard became violent toward him when Depp didn’t do what he wanted. He never really loved her as a person to begin with, so his foolishness shows in his attitude. When Depp was chosen as the face of Dior’s perfume, I seriously said to him, “I don’t understand why they choose someone like you.
Still, he was with me, and encouraged by the confidence that he was loved, Heard became more and more brazen. But when Depp tried to hide in the bathroom or go to another house to escape the argument and be alone, I panicked. He couldn’t allow himself to be left behind. When he was left behind, Heard relentlessly tried to call Depp back by sending dozens of text messages every few minutes. Psychologist Shannon Currie, who diagnosed Heard as having a personality disorder, cited at trial that one of his symptoms was a fear of being abandoned and always wanting to be bothered.
And when he finally realizes that he is really going to be dumped, Heard does the ultimate thing to be bothered. Resentful of Depp’s divorce from her, she files for divorce herself while he is away in Los Angeles on tour with his band. Disappointed that it went unnoticed by the media, she next devised a plan to pretend that Depp had been subjecting her to domestic violence. In going to court to obtain a restraining order with a bruised face, she notified the gossip sites ahead of time and had a publicist come with her.
This had the desired effect, but he was shocked when Depp’s divorce attorney told him that he had to leave the penthouse within two weeks. ‘I don’t like being told that. Where do you want us to go?” When I protested to Depp, he said that he could take a little more time, but he did not tell me that I did not have to leave. So, as the divorce proceedings were proceeding apace, Heard went to see Depp in San Francisco, the last stop on the band’s tour (a very strange thing to do, to go and see the person you have a restraining order against yourself). At this meeting, Depp was hoping that Heard would tell him that he would retract his lie about being DV’d, but that didn’t happen.
Depp has been sitting on Heard’s life for a long time.
Thanks to Depp’s acceptance of all of his demands, the divorce talks were over in about two and a half months. The $7 million he was promised was paid in installments, all by a year after the divorce became official. Although their relationship should have been completely severed, Heard’s frustration at being left behind and his lingering desire for a more glamorous life remained in his heart.
Then the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), to which she had promised to donate money, approached her to write an opinion piece as a victim of domestic violence. This is a wonderful way to build an image as a courageous person who stands up for all women. If published at the time of the release of “Aquaman,” it would be great publicity, and most importantly, it would give Depp a little revenge. At the time, Heard had no idea that Depp, who had never laid a hand on him after being beaten up or having a bottle of vodka thrown at him, would see the article and file a lawsuit.
But Depp was now completely out of patience. And after six years of being treated like a domestic violence man, Depp was finally able to tell the truth with his own mouth and have the public believe him. According to Depp’s lawyer, a longtime friend of Depp’s said, “I haven’t seen such a cheerful look on his face for a while. Depp now feels refreshed and ready to walk into the future. In that future, Heard is not there.
But Heard is not. Depp is sitting firmly in the middle of her life as she goes on TV and does it all over again to get no one to believe her, and she is also trying to write a book. She can’t forgive herself for losing the luxury she enjoyed because of Depp, and even more so for being hated by the public. She doesn’t realize that it was her fault, not Depp’s, and she will continue to use Depp to justify herself. She is already preparing for an appeal, but the hurdles for an appeal are high and even if it happens, it will take a long time. Asked what kind of life she wants from now on, Heard said, “I want to live my life as a full-time mother without being interrupted by phone calls with lawyers.” That, like all her statements, just rings hollow.
