Johnny Depp’s other court battle appears to be settled in the form of a “settlement”.
Hit me now and I’ll give you $100,000!
In July 2018, a man named Greg “Rocky” Brooks, who was a location manager for the film at the time, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles court alleging that he was violated by actor Johnny Depp.
Greg “Rocky” Brooks claims that in April 2017, he was punched twice in the rib area on the set of the movie “L.A. Cold Case,” starring Johnny Depp.
The trouble began when Brooks told Johnny and the director that the scene involving two of Johnny’s friends was “not well coordinated,” according to the report.
During the quarrel, Johnny allegedly drunk and shouted to Brooks, “If you hit me right now, I’ll give you $ 100,000!”
Based on this allegation, Brooks was seeking compensation in this trial, but on Monday, July 11, a notice of settlement was filed. Detailed terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Also, neither Johnny nor Brooks’ representatives have made any specific comments on the case at this time.
Speaking of Johnny, he just finished a trial with his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, on June 1 of this year, which was triggered by Amber Heard’s 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post alleging domestic violence, to which Johnny responded, “They wrote as if I was the perpetrator. Johnny responded by pointing out that the article “made it sound as if he was the perpetrator,” and sued for defamation.
The trial started in April, and Johnny’s claim was accepted, resulting in Amber being ordered to pay $10.35 million in damages.
