THE BATMAN” is a stand-alone Batman movie that does not belong to the DC Universe. The film focuses on Bruce, a young, immature, and larger-than-life character in his second year as “Batman,” as he struggles to find his way in the world. Colin plays Penguin (aka Oz), the proprietor of the Iceberg Lounge, a popular upscale nightclub in Gotham City where villains also congregate.

The film was released this spring after several postponements due to the spread of the new coronavirus. It was an instant hit, drawing praise for its cinematography, engaging performances, and thoughtful exploration of social injustice. Due to the film’s huge success, WB and DC decided to produce a sequel, which was officially announced at CinemaCon in April. We know that lead actor Robert Pattinson and director Mad Reeves will return for the sequel, but they have yet to officially announce what will happen to the other actors.

Speaking to ET recently, Colin was asked about his role as the Penguin in the “THE BATMAN” sequel and said, “Oh my god, are you kidding me? That was a lot of fun. It was easy sport, I mean it was a joy,” he replied. He described his time in THE BATMAN as exceptionally enjoyable, and revealed that he would definitely return if given the opportunity to perform.

Colin’s statement follows that of Paul Dano, who played the Riddler in THE BATMAN, who said that he would love to reprise his role. When will the official announcement of the cast be made…? Fans are raising their expectations.
