Singer and actress Olivia Newton John passed away at the age of 73 after a battle with breast cancer. Actor John Travolta, who co-starred in the film “Grease,” expressed his condolences.

Olivia Newton-John passed away at the age of 73.

Singer Olivia Newton-John, who also worked as an actress in films such as “Grease,” has passed away after a battle with breast cancer that lasted more than 30 years. She was 73 years old.

Olivia’s passing was announced by her husband, John Easterling, on August 8 local time. John announced the obituary via Olivia’s Instagram, and in a post with a photo of Olivia, he wrote ‘Dame* Olivia Newton John, 73, passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by family and friends at the ranch she owned in Southern California. We hope you will respect our family’s privacy at this difficult time.”

*Olivia was awarded the title of Dame 2020, a title given to women by the British government.

Olivia was a symbol of triumph and hope as she continued to share about her battle with breast cancer for over 30 years. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine will now be passed on to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation, which conducts research on plant medicine and cancer. As a family, we hope that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Olivia Newton John Foundation.”
