Jennifer Flavin, 54, the wife of Sylvester Stallone, 76, a former model and actor known for his “Rocky” series of movies, has filed for divorce. The couple met at a restaurant in Beverly Hills in 1988 and got married after many twists and turns. They just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in May this year.
The reason for the divorce has not been disclosed.
Several media outlets, including People magazine, reported that Ms. Flavin filed for divorce in Palm Beach, Florida, court on March 19, and Stallone’s representative told USA Today, “I love my family. I am taking this personal matter amicably and privately,” he said. He and Flavin have three daughters, ages 25 to 20, and this is Stallone’s third divorce.
In honor of their 25th wedding anniversary, Stallone posted a memorable two-shot photo of the couple on social media, saying, “To my wonderful wife, happy 25th wedding anniversary. Words cannot express how important an incredibly devoted and patient woman has been in our lives,” he wrote in words of gratitude. According to People magazine, Ms. Flavin also wrote on her social networking site, “Our marriage is getting better every year. I look forward to spending the rest of our lives together.” She had posted a post celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, but later deleted it.
Stallone was recently reported to have erased the tattoo of his wife’s face on his shoulder and re-tattooed it on the face of his dog, a bulldog, and at the same time Ms. Flavin said, “These kids come first. I don’t care about anything else. We four are forever.” He posted a photo of himself hugging his three daughters on Instagram with the comment, “We four are forever,” which led to rumors that they were not getting along.
