On September 12 (Mon.), the 74th Emmy Awards ceremony, a festival of the TV industry, was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short appeared as presenters in the Variety Talk Series category at the ceremony. The three co-star in the crime comedy drama “Murder in the Building,” which is available on Hulu (Disney Plus in Japan).

The MC said, “Selena Gomez and her two companions (laughs). Steve Martin, and Martin Short,” and the three appeared on stage, humorously introduced by the MC. Martin Short said, “Thank you. I thought it was a standing ovation,” and Steve Martin asked, “Selena, how much time do you have left? Steve Martin asked, “Selena, how much time do you have left?” to which Selena replied, “I don’t know, but if I watch my diet and exercise enough, I can probably get 10 or 12 years,” which made the audience laugh, not because of the time she had as a presenter, but because of her life expectancy story.

Selena added, “You know what I love about working with these two?” she said to the camera. After a short pause, she added, “The fact that there are never any paparazzi,” referring to Steve and Martin’s lack of contact with the paparazzi, which drew laughter from the audience. Selena then followed up on her earlier joke by saying, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Steve Martin and Martin Short,” and conveyed her true feelings.
