Elizabeth Chambers, the estranged wife of Armie Hammer, who has disappeared from Hollywood after numerous scandals, leaked stories about him to the press in the past, using a friend’s email, Page Six reports.
She posed as her friend and logged into her email.
According to screenshots of text messages and DMs obtained by Page Six, Elizabeth Chambers logged into the emails posing as her friend to plant stories about Armie long before his “cannibal” DMs became top news. The stories included one about flirting with actress Lily James.
In October 2020, three months after Elizabeth and Armey jointly announced their divorce, a text message allegedly sent by Elizabeth read, “Oh yes, an excerpt from his unfortunate GQ cover shoot,” “We need to get back to sending comments and tips. This time to the Daily Mail, about Lily James,” she wrote.
Another exchange was said to be about Elizabeth asking a friend to leak photos and videos of Armie.
A former friend of Elizabeth’s told Page Six that she leaked the screenshots “because I don’t feel safe anymore. ‘At first it seemed perfectly harmless because it wasn’t the primary e-mail I use. Then I saw everything she had written and I got so uncomfortable that I lied to her and told her I had changed my password because I had been hacked,” she commented.
Armie was controversially accused of sexual abuse by several women last January. A DM allegedly sent by Armie stated, “I am 100 percent a cannibal. I want to eat you,” shocked the public. He was forced to drop the movie “Shotgun Wedding,” the Cold War thriller “Billion Dollar Spy,” and the drama series “The Offer,” a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Mafia film “The Godfather,” in response to the allegations.
