Actor Frank Vallelonga Jr. has died at the age of 60.
The cause of death is not clear at this time.
Frank Vallelonga Jr. appeared in the 2018 Oscar-winning film “Green Book” (2018). His father is actor Frank Anthony Vallelonga Sr, aka Tony Lipp.
Vallelonga was found dead on Monday, November 28, near a factory in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City.
The police told “Deadline” that “upon arrival at the scene, an unidentified adult male was lying unconscious and unresponsive,” explaining the situation at the time, “No apparent trauma was observed on the male, but he was pronounced dead when emergency services arrived on the scene. The coroner will determine the cause of death in the coming days, and the investigation is ongoing,” he added.
The incident also led to the arrest of a 35-year-old driver, Steven Smith, who was suspected of trying to hide Vallelonga’s body. The man, on the other hand, was reportedly not involved in Vallelonga’s death.
Steven Smith is believed to have transported the body in his own car and left it at the scene where it was found.
He told the police, “This man was already dead. He had overdosed on something. I didn’t know what else to do,” he said. I didn’t know anything about the man.
No definite cause of death has been revealed at this time.
Green Book” is the story of a black musician who develops a friendship with a white driver he hires to take him on a performance tour in the southern United States. The white driver, Tony Lipp, is said to be modeled after Vallelonga’s father, and the film is produced by Vallelonga’s brother, Nick Vallelonga.
