‘It is with great sadness that we inform you that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident.

‘Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, he was a father and a husband.”

His absence will be felt incredibly sadly.”

We ask that his family respect his privacy during this time of grief.”

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office in Utah, USA, which inspected the accident site, also issued the following statement.

On January 2, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Wasatch County 911 Center received a report of a snowmobile accident in the Mill Hollow area.

Search and rescue units responded along with the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, Utah State Parks, and U.S. Forest Service law enforcement.

Kenneth Brock, a 55-year-old male driver from Park City, Utah, was snowmobiling on a steep slope when his snowmobile tipped over and came to rest on top of him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

Mr. Brock was riding the snowmobile with a group of others and was alone when the accident occurred.

The state medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.

We are saddened to hear of Kenneth’s passing and extend our condolences to his family and friends.

We want to thank everyone who responded initially for their support.”

Brock started rallying in the United States in 2005 and began competing in the Rally America series. In 2007 he made his WRC debut, and in 2010 he increased his presence in the WRC by signing with Ford and the team then known as the Monster World Rally Team.

Then in 2012, he launched the Hoonigan Racing Division and competed in the Global Rallycross Championship, finishing second in the standings in 2015. The following year, he moved his success directly to WRX.

Ken Block continues to compete in rally competition in the U.S., and his wife Lucy and daughter Leah also compete in U.S. national championships with the Hoonigan Racing Division.

Perhaps even more noteworthy than the competition is Ken Block’s stunt driving. The first episode of his video was released in 2008 and has been viewed well over 500 million times to date.
