Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) director Christophe Galtier revealed that the club and Lionel Messi have begun negotiations for a contract extension.

After a lackluster first season, Messi has continued his strong second season with 12 goals and 14 assists in 19 official games, and he also led Argentina to victory at the recent World Cup in Qatar.

Messi, who is rightly regarded as one of the best players in the world on French soil, will be out of contract with PSG in the summer, and his departure after six months is still uncertain. While his departure after six months remains uncertain, it has been reported that both sides have recently reached a verbal agreement to extend his contract. However, some have raised the possibility of a summer trip to the United States.

Amidst all the speculation regarding Messi’s departure, Galtier was asked about the status of the Argentine’s contract, “Discussions are taking place and the leaders of the club have exchanged views with Leo regarding a contract extension. But I don’t know how much progress has been made. Still, from my point of view, Leo seems to be happy in Paris.
