Tom Cruise seems to be distancing himself from his own daughter Suri.

According to an exclusive report by Page Six, actor Tom Cruise has not seen his daughter Suri (16) for quite some time and is not involved with her at all.

Suri was born in 2006 to his then fiancée (who he later married), actress Katie Holmes. However, after their break-up in 2011, Tom and Suri became increasingly estranged.

In 2012, Tom admitted in a defamation case he filed against Bauer Media that he had not seen Suri for three months after his break-up with Katie Holmes.

The following year, Tom told his lawyers: ‘Look, things change when you break up. This is not ideal. It’s not an ideal situation,” he is alleged to have said.

Tom also confessed that the reason he was separated from his daughter was because of a new religion that he follows. The religion has a rule that “prohibits a believer from dating a non-believer”, and neither Suri nor Katie are believers. Therefore, Tom is reportedly not allowed to interact with them.

Suri is currently living a relatively normal life with her mother in New York, and Page Six has reached out to Tom’s lawyers and Katie’s representatives for comment, but has not received a response at this time.
